The New York University Journal of Law and Liberty invites you to attend our 2013 conference, “Government Structures and the Redistribution of Wealth,” which will take place on Monday, March 4, 2013, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm in the Lester Pollack Colloquium on the 9th Floor of Furman Hall.
This conference will explore the devices that are intended to give security against confiscation to those individuals or groups who participate in diverse collective ventures: federalism, corporations; labor unions; and condominiums are the four illustrative cases. The discussion will compare governance structures with an eye toward the ideal in governance generally, which is to secure common improvements rather than factional gains.
The event will feature a keynote speech by Professor Richard Epstein, followed by a moderated panel consisting of NYU professors Marcel Kahan, Deborah Malamud and Vicki Been. An audience question and answer session and reception will follow.
